An evaluation plan and concept review may include business_assessment. It is a distinct section, derived from the confirmed IntakeSpec without a WorldSpec or simulation. Two validated examples are in fixtures/business/ in the repository.

Each field is a BusinessStatement with value, basis and source_ids. basis is:

• user_claim: taken from the submitted intake; it has not been independently verified. A source_ids entry means a specific intake claim cites that submitted source.
• system_hypothesis: a suggested mechanism, assumption or experiment constructed by the V0 planner from the intake; no buyer or market fact is inferred. ai_hypothesis is reserved for future AI-drafted suggestions and is not used by this V0 mapper.
• unknown: the intake does not identify an answer. value is null and the assessment asks a focused question.

The assessment covers proposed user, buyer, budget owner, problem, current alternative, adoption, procurement and integration dependencies, possible value mechanism, consequential commercial assumption and next inexpensive experiment. questions lists missing information; limitations describes what the assessment cannot establish.

V0 does not calculate market size, demand, willingness to pay, price, revenue, savings or return on investment. It contains no commercial viability score. The plan and review use the same intake derived map; a concept review adds a separate literature assessment with its own citation checks.
